Jo Cox, public feeling and British political culture: #MoreInCommon

Five years after the murder of British MP, Jo Cox, during European Union referendum campaign in 2016, this article examines More In Common initiative through two sites participatory practice: on Twitter via related hashtags–#MoreInCommon and #LoveLikeJo–and ‘More Common’ exhibition (2021–2022) at People’s History Museum Manchester. We consider how both spaces help to organise public feeling ways which these draw Cox’s identity politics values curate her political legacy. identify three emergent logics our thematic analysis tweets posted with hashtags month following death: connected, visual resistant.
